PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

With over two decades of experience in the health and fitness industry, Michael Dyt brings a diverse background that spans sports, education, and business ownership. After completing his Bachelor of Science in Sports Management in the USA on a basketball scholarship, he returned to Australia to pursue a Diploma of Health Science in Remedial Massage, launching his own massage business in Melbourne. In 2004, Michael moved to Brisbane, where he completed his fitness qualifications and began teaching at the Australian Institute of Fitness while also working as a personal trainer.

Over the years, Michael has combined his passion for education and coaching through roles as a lecturer, assessor, and business owner. He opened his own personal training studio, Fitminds Health Coaching, before going on to lecture at AIF and later work with AIPT from 2015 to 2023. In 2023, he joined NHFA, bringing his wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience to support the next generation of fitness professionals.

Current Role at NHFA

Michael is an Online Trainer and Assessor at NHFA, where he guides and supports students throughout their Certificate III and IV studies in Fitness. Drawing on his extensive background in education and personal training, he provides practical insights, constructive feedback, and real-world experience to help students succeed in their studies and future careers.

Personal Touch

A passionate basketball coach and player, Michael has been deeply involved in the Traralgon basketball community for the past decade and recently represented Australia in the FIMBA Masters Tournament. Outside of fitness and sport, he enjoys life on a farm in Callignee with his girlfriend and her two children. Balancing family, sport, and the outdoors, Michael brings energy, care, and a love of learning into every aspect of his life and work.
