PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

With more than 25 years in the fitness industry and over 15 years of teaching and lecturing experience, Tallan brings a powerful combination of coaching expertise, leadership, and education to NHFA. Across his career, he has worked as a personal trainer, educator, mentor, business owner, and leader, helping both fitness professionals and everyday clients become stronger, more confident versions of themselves.

Tallan previously spent a decade as a Training Manager and Lecturer, mentoring future fitness professionals and developing a reputation for his energetic, practical, and coach-first approach to education. He also owned and operated F45 Training Midvale for nine years, building a strong community centred around teamwork, accountability, and life-changing fitness.

Current Role at NHFA

At NHFA, Tallan is passionate about developing the next generation of fitness professionals. Through practical coaching and real-world industry insights, he helps students bridge the gap between theory and application, ensuring they leave with the confidence, skills, and mindset to succeed in the fitness industry.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (Sport Science)
  • Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary Physical Education)
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment
  • Certificate III & IV in Fitness
  • Diploma of Local Government – Elected Member
  • Diploma in Management

Personal Touch

Outside of fitness, Tallan also works as a full-time firefighter and previously enjoyed a 16-year semi-professional WAFL football career, playing 263 games and captaining teams across six seasons. When he’s not coaching or teaching, you’ll likely find him training, talking footy, building loud playlists, or motivating everyone around him with phrases like “Lock in!”, “Finish strong!” and “You’ve got more!”.
